Alex Morgan with USA soccer team go to 2012 Olympic champion
2012 Olympics coming up next. Women's football has a strange schedule, due to two major events (World Cup and Olympic Games) was held in consecutive years, followed by two years in which women's soccer drops most of the radar.
During this schedule remains the same (and I argue that it should not), the Olympic Games next year will be the end of a four-year cycle. Short turnaround time between now and next July means there will not be many changes in the U.S. team. Coach Pia Sundhage contract that runs through the Olympics, so do not expect a philosophical revolution. My main question is whether the old U.S. starter such as Shannon Boxx (which will be 35 at the time) and Christie Rampone (which will be 37) will remain in the team.
I think: Boxx has contributed much to the national team for years, but he looked a step slow today. The Rampone, captain, she played well in Germany and is still above the list of fitness team, so I suspect she has one more tournament in her as a starter.
